About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of DIFLUCAN patients who developed myopathy.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 47 individuals taking DIFLUCAN reported myopathy to the FDA. A total of 8698 DIFLUCAN drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between DIFLUCAN and myopathy. In doing so, we compare DIFLUCAN with other drugs that cause myopathy, to help you evaluate whether or not DIFLUCAN causes myopathy. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of DIFLUCAN, so you can see if myopathy ranks among DIFLUCAN's most well-known side effects.
Summary Statistics
Reports of DIFLUCAN causing myopathy: 47
Reports of any side effect of DIFLUCAN : 8698
Percentage of DIFLUCAN patients where myopathy is a reported side effect: 0.5404%

FDA reports of any drug causing myopathy : 3605
Average percentage for all medicated patients where myopathy is reported as a complication: 0.0226%

CONCERN
HYPERSEXUALITY
I took a diflucan 150 mg on Saturday night. It is now We'd of the same week. I have had an insatiable desire for sex everyday since. I want any form of sexual contact with my husband and can't seem to get enough. I'm 32 yrs old and have been married for 9 1/2 yrs. for 3 us now my sex drive has been dramatically decreased. Although, it was very healthy before that period. In three days we have had sex 8 times, which is highly unusual for us. We have two small kids in school and stay very busy. He even traveled for one day in between. So the first day after taking, about twelve hours later this started. We had sex 5 times on Sun. He traveled Mon. Tues we had sex 3 times in about an hour and a half. I would have wanted more, but he went to sleep while I was taking a shower. This is crazy for me even when I had a good sex drive. What is going on? Should I go to the Dr? I'm enjoying this sideffects, but not sure if I should be worried. 2015-04-23 09:37:04
