About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of velcade patients who developed c-reactive protein increased.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 210 individuals taking velcade reported c-reactive protein increased to the FDA. A total of 19701 velcade drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between velcade and c-reactive protein increased. In doing so, we compare velcade with other drugs that cause c-reactive protein increased, to help you evaluate whether or not velcade causes c-reactive protein increased. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of velcade, so you can see if c-reactive protein increased ranks among velcade's most well-known side effects.
Summary Statistics
Reports of velcade causing c-reactive protein increased: 210
Reports of any side effect of velcade : 19701
Percentage of velcade patients where c-reactive protein increased is a reported side effect: 1.0659%

FDA reports of any drug causing c-reactive protein increased : 12375
Average percentage for all medicated patients where c-reactive protein increased is reported as a complication: 0.0776%

QUESTION
SINUS TACHYCARDIA
I received 2 regimens of chemotherapy in 2008/2009. Velcade/cytoxin year 1 and velcade /doxyl year 2 followed by autologous stem cell rescue. I've been in remission since March 2010 but suffer with acute peripheral neuropathy and tachycardia which is most likely due to the velcade regimen. What percentage of Velcade treated MM have this neuropathy combination? 2014-12-17 15:54:34
QUESTION
ISCHAEMIC STROKE
Can velcade cause a stroke? After my latest injection of sub-Q velcade, I developed a fever (as I have after every injection), and woke up the morning the Saturday morning after a Wednesday treatment to find my legs were numb and I had balance problems (this was almost three weeks ago, and the symptoms have not subsided). I attributed the neuropathy to the velcade, but when I saw my oncologist the following Thursday, he said the symptoms were not typical of velcade neuropathy. He didn't specify a cause for my condition, however, as I am also being treated for a thoracic tumor, and he said that might be the source of the problem. (I'm skeptical as the changes came on so suddenly, overnight.). Please enlighten me. 2016-02-10 12:47:46
