About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of ACTONEL patients who developed AKINESIA.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 10 individuals taking ACTONEL reported AKINESIA to the FDA. A total of 15760 ACTONEL drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between ACTONEL and AKINESIA. In doing so, we compare ACTONEL with other drugs that cause AKINESIA, to help you evaluate whether or not ACTONEL causes AKINESIA. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of ACTONEL, so you can see if AKINESIA ranks among ACTONEL's most well-known side effects.
Summary Statistics
Reports of ACTONEL causing AKINESIA: 10
Reports of any side effect of ACTONEL : 15760
Percentage of ACTONEL patients where AKINESIA is a reported side effect: 0.0635%

FDA reports of any drug causing AKINESIA : 753
Average percentage for all medicated patients where AKINESIA is reported as a complication: 0.0047%

LICHEN PLANUS
I have been suffering from erosive oral lichen planus for about two years now (formally diagnosed by biopsy nearly a year ago) and had been on Actonel for about two years before all this started, having stopped taking it a little while before noticing symptoms of the lichen planus. Could there be a connection? 2014-11-22 15:27:40
QUESTION
CHOROID MELANOMA
I've had Melonoma should I begin Actonel? 2015-05-21 23:38:32
