About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of CIPROFLOXACIN patients who developed VIPOMA.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 1 individuals taking CIPROFLOXACIN reported VIPOMA to the FDA. A total of 17310 CIPROFLOXACIN drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between CIPROFLOXACIN and VIPOMA. In doing so, we compare CIPROFLOXACIN with other drugs that cause VIPOMA, to help you evaluate whether or not CIPROFLOXACIN causes VIPOMA. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of CIPROFLOXACIN, so you can see if VIPOMA ranks among CIPROFLOXACIN's most well-known side effects.

AORTIC DISSECTION
My father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Dec 2015 from an acute aortic dissection. He was on Cipro for 4 months to treat a complicated UTI following prostate surgery. I believe there is a direct correlation to the course of his treatment on Cipro and his dissection which took his life. Is there a reporting agency that is collecting this data or any class action lawsuits relating to Cipro and aortic dissection? 2016-03-20 16:53:55
QUESTION
COCCYDYNIA
I was prescribed Ciplox for a recurrent UTI (5 tabs followed by 10 - 500 mg). Am diabetic (very good control) and have a history of DVT and endometrial hyperplasia. I am 49 years old. I walk for 30 minutes everyday and do at least 20 minutes of free weights and stretches. Ever since I took Ciplox my tailbone hurts whenever I sit or drive (even for short periods) and it takes me a minute to stand up, painfully. Is this coccydynia? And could Ciplox have caused it. Another GP gave me Oflox (also a quinolone) for allergic bronchitis recently. Also, I'm allergic to Amoxicillin, cefalasporins and statins. What could have caused this pain? I can't stop exercising because it keeps the diabetes in such good control and it doesn't hurt when I walk or stand. 2016-03-30 02:38:06
