About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of DURAGESIC patients who developed ADRENALITIS.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 6 individuals taking DURAGESIC reported ADRENALITIS to the FDA. A total of 4556 DURAGESIC drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between DURAGESIC and ADRENALITIS. In doing so, we compare DURAGESIC with other drugs that cause ADRENALITIS, to help you evaluate whether or not DURAGESIC causes ADRENALITIS. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of DURAGESIC, so you can see if ADRENALITIS ranks among DURAGESIC's most well-known side effects.
Summary Statistics
Reports of DURAGESIC causing ADRENALITIS: 6
Reports of any side effect of DURAGESIC : 4556
Percentage of DURAGESIC patients where ADRENALITIS is a reported side effect: 0.1317%

QUESTION
CEREBRAL ATROPHY
I have been on fentanyl duragesic patch for over 10 years. 50 mcg. every 72 hrs. I had one eeg study about 4 years ago which showed I have hypoxic encephalopathy. It seems to be getting much worse. I have just begun to look into this theory of fentanyl duragesic patches being the culprit. I never realized they could cause this type of problem. I also have severe sleep apnea and I thought that might by the problem. Can any health professional give me some insight on this? Are there any other people out there that are experiencing the same thing? 2014-12-09 12:41:56
