Study of possible correlation between FAECES DISCOLOURED and GABAPENTIN
Accompanying discussion about FactMed users Questions and Concerns
About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of GABAPENTIN patients who developed FAECES DISCOLOURED.
FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 57 individuals taking GABAPENTIN reported FAECES DISCOLOURED to the FDA. A total of 32214 GABAPENTIN drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.FDA Research Report
Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between GABAPENTIN and FAECES DISCOLOURED. In doing so, we compare GABAPENTIN with other drugs that cause FAECES DISCOLOURED, to help you evaluate whether or not GABAPENTIN causes FAECES DISCOLOURED. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of GABAPENTIN, so you can see if FAECES DISCOLOURED ranks among GABAPENTIN's most well-known side effects.

| QUESTION RHABDOMYOLYSIS | I almost died from a severe case of Rhabdomyolysis after being paralyzed from a cause that was never determined. I have Chiari Malformation w/Syringomyelia and neurologist wants to put me on Gabapentin. I have a few concerns about this medication one of them being that it has been shown to cause Rhabdomyolsis. In addition I've been told this drug causes rapid weight gain and hostility. I've had these reactions from Topomax, Seroquel and Effexor and am battling to lose 35 pounds from them. My concern is should someone that had such a severe case of Rhabdomyolsis take Gabapentin. I have been warned by several doctors and my Pharmacist against taking any medications that might cause it again. The thinking was that my being paralyzed was caused by medication, Abilify but they were never able to prove it. The Rhabdo set in after I had been laying on the floor for 7 hours screaming for help. I really am uncertain about taking this medication if it could cause Rhabdo again. | 2015-02-24 11:27:47 |

| CONCERN HYPERSEXUALITY | Another controversy centered on Brock's secretly approved contract in 2007 that provided it would roll over automatically every four years unless the board voted to cancel, which was exposed by the Journal a year later. That contract is worth about $2 million a year in legal fees, much of which is a result of the many special education issues Brock Clay handles for the district. Although the current contract is not set to expire until the end of 2012, Brock wrote the board after the Journal exposed the secret contract that it could disregard the contract whenever it wanted, but did ask for six months notice should the board ever want to terminate the contract. | 2015-06-30 00:31:46 |

| QUESTION DEHYDRATION | I was prescribed 300 mg. of Gabapentin, twice per day, for an injured muscle during a surgical procedure. I took it along with 50 mg. of Tramadol twice daily. After about 2 weeks I was able to cut down the amount of both these drugs. After being on Gabapentin for about a week, I got my Prolia shot for osteoporosis on March 7. On March 24 I had a severe reaction and almost passed out at the drugstore and my blood pressure dropped to about 80 and the paramedics diagnosed the drop due to dehydration (I had about 3 8oz. glasses of water earlier). I was taken to the hospital and treatment was saline IV and kept overnight for observation. All tests done were normal. The hospital concluded the drop in blood pressure was due to hydration. My question is: did the Gabapentin cause the dehydration and drop in blood pressure or could it have been the combination of that drug and then the Prolia shot. Research on some web sites indicates a small percentage of both of these drugs causing dehydration. My doctor and I believe it was the Gabapentin since I had taken Prolia in the past without this side effect. Pauline | 2016-06-20 14:57:28 |
