About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of MORPHINE patients who developed ACANTHOLYSIS.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 2 individuals taking MORPHINE reported ACANTHOLYSIS to the FDA. A total of 24248 MORPHINE drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between MORPHINE and ACANTHOLYSIS. In doing so, we compare MORPHINE with other drugs that cause ACANTHOLYSIS, to help you evaluate whether or not MORPHINE causes ACANTHOLYSIS. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of MORPHINE, so you can see if ACANTHOLYSIS ranks among MORPHINE's most well-known side effects.
Summary Statistics
Reports of MORPHINE causing ACANTHOLYSIS: 2
Reports of any side effect of MORPHINE : 24248
Percentage of MORPHINE patients where ACANTHOLYSIS is a reported side effect: 0.0082%

FDA reports of any drug causing ACANTHOLYSIS : 33
Average percentage for all medicated patients where ACANTHOLYSIS is reported as a complication: 0.0002%

HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY
Am taking e/r morphine sulfate and am scheduled to begin hyperbaric oxygen treatments on Monday 2/16/15........what is the possible adverse reaction(s) between hyperbaric oxygen treatment(s) and morphine < What is the possible interaction(s) of hyperbaric oxygen pressurized treatment and the concurrent use of morphine. I am currently on a regimen of Extended Release Morphine Sulfate for serious pain which I take twice per day (every twelve hours). I have been informed there is some sort of possible adverse reaction(s) with this treatment/medication combination. Please advise me about this......please. 2015-02-15 13:02:46
QUESTION
NIGHT SWEATS
I am 57 yr old female & have been taking MS 30mg Er & MS 15mg IR for a number of years now, without any adverse side effects except constipation. But last month I had a severe night sweat, soaked from head to toe, only happened 1 night. This month again 1 night & a little during the day but not severe as at night. If this was from the medication wouldn't it happen more often? Went to OBGYN & she doesn't think its hormone related since I stopped menstrating at 47 yrs old. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you Josephine 2015-03-04 12:32:22

BRUGADA SYNDROME
I was diagnosed with Brugada syndrome five years ago after our son tragically died at the age of 36. One of our daughters also has inherited it. I have recently had a knee replacement and had a nerve block, I was then given MST and oramorph for the pain. I have had a really awful reaction to the morphine and have weaned myself of it now. I will in the future have to have a shoulder repair and want to make sure that they don't give me morphine again. My GP is well versed inBrugada syndrome and is as yet unaware of the awful time I have had. Was it and is it dangerous for me to have morphine again? 2016-02-29 13:26:58
