Study of possible correlation between LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION and NEXIUM
Accompanying discussion about FactMed users Questions and Concerns
About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of NEXIUM patients who developed LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION.
FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 108 individuals taking NEXIUM reported LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION to the FDA. A total of 88845 NEXIUM drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.FDA Research Report
Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between NEXIUM and LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION. In doing so, we compare NEXIUM with other drugs that cause LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION, to help you evaluate whether or not NEXIUM causes LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of NEXIUM, so you can see if LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION ranks among NEXIUM's most well-known side effects.

| QUESTION AORTIC DISSECTION | I am currently 62, and have suffered from GERD since I was about 16. I was prescribed 40mg of Nexium over 15 years ago. During that time I suffered broken bones in 3 separate minor events. I also had a Stanford Type III Aortic dissection, and was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and CKD. Around January of 2015 (about 18 months ago) I quit the Nexium cold turkey, and began taking 2 oz of Apple Cider Vinegar daily. I have had virtually ZERO recurrence of my life-long GERD symptoms. Unfortunately, the bones are still damaged, the kidneys still struggle to keep up, the Lupus still flares up for little or no reason, and the dissected aorta continues to limit my physical activities. GET OFF THAT STUFF! It's FDA approved for no more than 3 weeks of use, yet everybody on here has been on it for YEARS. IT ISN'T SAFE for human consumption. Why do we continue to enrich the Pharmaceutical giants at the sacrifice of our health? | 2016-06-29 13:01:57 |

| QUESTION ESSENTIAL TREMOR | More a comment from what I've learned on Nexium for 10 years - magnesium deficiency is a cause for Essential Tremors (ET). Taking Nexium may reduce your ability to absorb magnesium naturally so some (including me) end up with ET. I prescribed Metroprolol and for me that worked. I also take regular supplements of magnesium to get / keep my levels in the normal range. I know of 5 other people who have similar issues at various levels. One other thing I learned is that some calcium supplements don't work with Nexium so be picky about which you use. I switched to CitraCal after a bone density scan showed decline in bone density beyond what it should be for my age. Something worth talking to your doctor about. | 2016-07-29 15:03:41 |

I'm also beinginitired for pre Barrett's Esophagus and this Generic Pepcid AINT CUTTING IT!!Help!!any suggestions? I'm in other meds for high BP & Rxs for Fibromyalgia.
