About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of PREDNISONE TAB patients who developed MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE.

FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 28 individuals taking PREDNISONE TAB reported MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE to the FDA. A total of 37145 PREDNISONE TAB drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.

FDA Research Report

Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between PREDNISONE TAB and MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE. In doing so, we compare PREDNISONE TAB with other drugs that cause MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE, to help you evaluate whether or not PREDNISONE TAB causes MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of PREDNISONE TAB, so you can see if MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE ranks among PREDNISONE TAB's most well-known side effects.

QUESTION
DIABETES MELLITUS
I have low t, shortly after starting testosterone therapy applied to the skin(2months or so) I noticed varicose veins in my legs and supposedly had a heart attach. Could there be a correlation between the two? Also shortly after that I became very tired again, but this time I had started juicing while on prednisone, had to be taken to the hospital e.r. and was diagnosed with diabetes type 2. My question is why aren't are our health care providers letting us know potential dangerous side effects and can these two problems be linked with the respective drug therapies? 2016-01-10 14:55:33

BLAST CELL COUNT INCREASED
My husband has been on 60mg of prednisone for minimal change disease since October 2015. A recent CBC showed he has "immature blast cells". Could this be due to the prednisone? I can't find any information on what causes this other than possible leukemia. He was referred to a hemotologist/oncologist but the apt is not until the end of May. 2016-04-25 22:09:42
