Study of possible correlation between NEUROTOXICITY and SIMVASTATIN
Accompanying discussion about FactMed users Questions and Concerns
About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of SIMVASTATIN patients who developed NEUROTOXICITY.
FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 48 individuals taking SIMVASTATIN reported NEUROTOXICITY to the FDA. A total of 67253 SIMVASTATIN drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.FDA Research Report
Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between SIMVASTATIN and NEUROTOXICITY. In doing so, we compare SIMVASTATIN with other drugs that cause NEUROTOXICITY, to help you evaluate whether or not SIMVASTATIN causes NEUROTOXICITY. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of SIMVASTATIN, so you can see if NEUROTOXICITY ranks among SIMVASTATIN's most well-known side effects.
Summary StatisticsReports of SIMVASTATIN causing NEUROTOXICITY: 48
Reports of any side effect of SIMVASTATIN : 67253
Percentage of SIMVASTATIN patients where NEUROTOXICITY is a reported side effect: 0.0714%
FDA reports of any drug causing NEUROTOXICITY : 2683
Average percentage for all medicated patients where NEUROTOXICITY is reported as a complication: 0.0168%

Super super painful, at least two of them a month. Yesterday I had to get 2 of them lacerated to drain them. One was on my right thigh the other one was under my left armpit. I just now read that there is a study going on that Simvastitan can cause skin boils in men around 50 years old. The pain can only be described as a knife stuck in you at all times and when you move it's like they twist the knife. I am wondering if anybody else has this issue or problem ? I'm a very clean person and shower at least once a day and I'm always wearing clean clothes. | 2015-04-30 00:07:08 |
